That's where The Mechanic's Edge comes in: we fill the gaps in traditional accounting packages that heavy equipment businesses face. We have listed below some of the important features that make our system so well-suited for tracking machine repairs, costs, and inventory.
The Mechanic's Edge can be used in any business where maintaining your equipment in tip-top shape -- and having the corresponding maintenance records at your fingertips -- is essential to your success.
The Mechanic's Edge allows you to create and manage work orders for your mechanics. You can create a printable form that is issued to a mechanic for work to be performed. The mechanic uses the form to record his activities and hours, as well as any fluids, parts, third-party services, etc used for the job.
The Mechanic's Edge allows you to monitor and schedule work that needs to be performed on your equipment units. You set up maintenance schedules for each type of equipment and then track when maintenance needs to be performed based on the service meter of the machine. "I forgot!" is no longer an excuse for missing a critical maintenance requirement.
The Mechanic's Edge allows you to keep track of your parts inventory. You can set up multiple inventory locations and maintain a count of all your parts on hand. When you create a work order, your parts are automatically removed from inventory. You can also set up a minimum inventory that is used to create a shopping list when you need to reorder parts.
