• All your data are stored in one place -- no more searching for the right spreadsheet file .
• Handle data once. For example, you enter a work ticket, and the data you enter there is used for both payroll and invoicing - whether or not you are charging out based on time and materials!  No more double entering of data into numerous spreadsheets for various purposes! 
• Changes cause all related information to be updated automatically. For example, you change an employee's name or employee number, and all time slips for the employee are automatically updated.
• You cannot make keypunch spelling errors. The database will NOT save invalid data.  For example, once you set up an equipment unit called EXC-01, you use a pick list to put that equipment unit on a time and billing sheet, so that it always appears  as EXC-01.  That will ensure that when you run a report, for example, showing hours for that machine across all jobs, you need not worry that sometimes the machine will have been keyed in as EX-01, or EXC1 — all hours will be coded consistently!

• Labels and terminology can be changed to match your business.  For example, an instrumentation company may need to set up lists of parts that can be added to a work ticket, whereas a construction company may need to set up different types of gravel and other aggregates that can be delivered to a job site.  We modify our terminology through database settings to meet your business needs. 
• Whether you charge by the hour, by the mile or kilometer traveled, by the day, by the month, by the tonne, or by the yard, or something altogether different, The Contractor's Edge can handle your units of measure.  You set up your own lists of measurements so that rates can be based on anything you want!
