Detailed Trees, by Block (#122)
|
|
Why:
You are looking for a report to monitor tree counts and estimated production
(based on the tree count and piece size information) on a day-by-day basis for
one or more blocks.
Focus:
Focus of Report is to show the tree counts and corresponding estimated
volume by Block. The report will use both Tree
Count 1 and Tree Count 2. This report is exactly the same as the Blocks (Production) -
Detailed Trees, by Area Report, with the exception that the filter screen
allows the selection of blocks (instead of areas).
Selection Window:
The selection window allows you to filter the report by:
- Date Range: You can either select a pay period, or you can simply enter the start and end date directly into the selection criteria window. The Period selection is merely a short-cut for entering a date range, so you can always edit the start and end dates to be any date you choose. For example, you can pick a period defined as 8/1/2004 to 8/12/2004, and then extend the end date by three days to 8/15/2004. If you leave the end time blank, the program will assume you want the entire day for the end date. In the example below, the start date/time is 8/1/2004 00:00:00 (a blank is assumed to be time 00:00:00) and the end date/time is 8/15/2004 00:00:00. Because the end date time is blank (or 00:00:00), the program assumes you want the whole day of the 15th and makes the end date/time 8/16/2004 00:00:00. In the selection query, the program returns records whose start date/time is greater than OR equal to the start/date time and strictly less than the end date/time.
- Block. You can select any or all of your Blocks.
- Sort By: The report be sorted by date/time and then block (see
Example Report 1) or sorted by Block and then date/time. If the latter
option is selected, the report will also group the data by activity and
supply a subtotal for the activity, by block. (See Example Report 2)
- The "Only Print Raw Data" option generates a report with the
report detail, but with no subtotals or totals.

Detailed Description:
The selection criteria determine the date range and blocks that appear in
the report. The report is based on time the entries for Employees,
and Contractors.
The report shows the detailed hours and tree counts for each employee and piece of
equipment.
For each block, the columns are:
- Date: Date when work was performed
- Block: Block Code
- Employee: Employee Code
- Customer: Customer code on the Revenue Contract (entered on the
time slip)
- Area: Primary Part 1 on the Block
- Compartment: Primary Part 2 on the Block
- Unit Code: Equipment Unit Code
- Activity: Work activity performed
- TC Conifer: Tree Count 1 from the time slip
- Est Production: Tree Count 1 multiplied by the Vol/Tree for Tree
Count 1 on the Block
- TC Aspen: Tree Count 2 from the time slip
- Est Production: Tree Count 2 multiplied by the Vol/Tree for Tree
Count 2 on the Block
- Total Est. Production: Sum of Est Production for Tree Count 1 and
Tree Count 2
- Prod Hours: Hours coded as "PRODUCTION" for the
equipment.
Key Notes:
- Because the report has no payment data, it can be run prior to running
the calculators.
- The report is based on time the entries for Employees and
Contractors
- Production statistics are estimated based on tree count entries.
This report does not show any actual production figures.
- The IS_PRODUCTION flag on the Pay Activities list is used to determine
the activity that is to be sued for determining the total production on a
block. For example, if tree counts are collected for multiple
activities (say bunching and delimbing), the software will use the tree
counts for whichever activity has its IS_PRODUCTION flag set to true for
displaying the total tree counts for the block. (If the tree counts
for both activities were summed, the total estimated production would be
essentially double-counted.)
- The report determines productive hours by counting the hours from the
time slip coded to an activity whose pay activity type has the Production
flag set to True.

Example One:
Example Report 1 shows the format of the report when the option Sort By
Date/Time has been selected. This view is useful for monitoring daily
production across all blocks.

Example Two:
Example Report 2 shows the same report as Report 1., except that it has been
sorted by block. Note, the activities are sorted and subtotaled, and
there is a total for the entire block.
