Equipment
Utilization, Summary (#111)
|
|
Why:
You are looking for a report that will show, for each block, the
machine units that worked on that block along with the number of total hours and
total productive hours for each machine. It is also a nice report
for users that track tree counts.
Focus:
Focus of Report is to show the production hours and total hours, by equipment
unit, grouped by equipment type, on a block-by-block basis.
For users that track tree counts, the report also provides a summary of the tree
counts, the trees per hour, and the actual versus estimated volumes harvested
(where the actual is based on load ticket information and the estimates are
based on the tree counts and volume/tree ratio you set up on the block). The report shows how productive
your equipment is on a block-by-block basis. This report is a companion
report to the report: Blocks (Production) - Equipment Utilization, Detailed
in which the data are presented on a daily basis.
Selection Window:
The selection window allows you to filter the report by:
- Date Range: You can either select a pay period, or you can simply enter the start and end date directly into the selection criteria window. The Period selection is merely a short-cut for entering a date range, so you can always edit the start and end dates to be any date you choose. For example, you can pick a period defined as 8/1/2004 to 8/12/2004, and then extend the end date by three days to 8/15/2004. If you leave the end time blank, the program will assume you want the entire day for the end date. In the example below, the start date/time is 8/1/2004 00:00:00 (a blank is assumed to be time 00:00:00) and the end date/time is 8/15/2004 00:00:00. Because the end date time is blank (or 00:00:00), the program assumes you want the whole day of the 15th and makes the end date/time 8/16/2004 00:00:00. In the selection query, the program returns records whose start date/time is greater than OR equal to the start/date time and strictly less than the end date/time.
- BlockYou can select any or all of your blocks.

Detailed Description:
The selection criteria determine the date range and blocks that appear in
the report. The report is based on time slip entries for Employees, Contractors,
and Equipment.
The report shows the hours for each piece of equipment, grouped by equipment
type. Each column contains the data for a block.
For each piece of equipment, the rows are:
- Total Hours: Total Hours on the time slip. Unlike most other
reports, this report actually includes maintenance hours
(hours whose pay activity belongs to an activity type where the "maintenance
time" field is non-zero) in the total hours figure.
- Production Hours: Hours for activities on time slips flagged as the
"PRODUCTION" basic pay activity type
The summary production rows are:
- Production Hours: Hours for activities on time slips coded as a pay
activity type where the "PRODUCTION" flag is checked.
- "Conifer" Count: Tree count for the first tree count
field (labeled conifer in this example)
- "Aspen" Count: Tree count for the second tree count field
(labeled aspen in this example). This row is only shown where the
second tree count is enabled on the Time Entry form
- Est Production: Sum of the tree counts multiplied by the volume per
tree (as entered for the block), by type.
- Actual Production: Sum of the volume field from the loadslips delivered off the block
- Actual/Est %: Percentage of Actual Volume to Estimated Volume
(Production). A
percentage under 100% could indicate an inventory of decked wood (wood
harvested, but not delivered) or an over-estimate of the volume per tree.
- Tree/Hour: Total trees ("Tree Count 1" plus "Tree
Count 2") divided by total production hours
- Est Prod/Hour: Est Production divided by total production hours
across all machines.
Key Notes:
- Because this report includes no revenue or cost data, calculators need not
be run for the report to have accurate information.
- Report covers both your own equipment and contractor equipment.
- The report is based on time sheet entries for Employees, Contractors,
and Equipment.
- Summary statistics depend on tree count entries.
- The report uses the "IS_PRODUCTION" flag on a specific activity to determine
the overall block's tree counts and production statistics. (For
example, if both bunchers and delimbers record tree counts, only one of the two activities
-- bunching or limbing -- should be marked
with the "IS_PRODUCTION" set to True. The activity whose
IS_PRODUCTION flag is true will be the one whose tree counts are displayed in the
report totals.)
- Production is based on tree counts and the estimated volume per tree on a
block
- Production hours are based on activities on time slips whose pay activity
type is flagged as a "PRODUCTION" type (see menu item Setup | Pay Activity
Types)
- Time Slips with an equipment unit of NONE are excluded from this report.
