Summary Trees, by Area (#119)
|
|
Why:
You are looking for a report to monitor overall tree counts by phase of
operation for all blocks within a given geographic area. You are NOT looking for machine or employee detail, nor are you
looking for estimated volumes.
Focus:
Focus of Report is to show the tree counts by Primary Part 1 (for
example, "Area") and by Block. The report will use both Tree
Count 1 and Tree Count 2. This report is the same as the Blocks (Production) -
Summary Trees, by Block Report, with the exception that the filter screen
allows the selection of Areas (instead of blocks), thereby selecting ALL
blocks within each area, and providing totals for each Area.
Selection Window:
The selection window allows you to filter the report by:
- Date Range: You can either select a pay period, or you can simply enter the start and end date directly into the selection criteria window. The Period selection is merely a short-cut for entering a date range, so you can always edit the start and end dates to be any date you choose. For example, you can pick a period defined as 8/1/2004 to 8/12/2004, and then extend the end date by three days to 8/15/2004. If you leave the end time blank, the program will assume you want the entire day for the end date. In the example below, the start date/time is 8/1/2004 00:00:00 (a blank is assumed to be time 00:00:00) and the end date/time is 8/15/2004 00:00:00. Because the end date time is blank (or 00:00:00), the program assumes you want the whole day of the 15th and makes the end date/time 8/16/2004 00:00:00. In the selection query, the program returns records whose start date/time is greater than OR equal to the start/date time and strictly less than the end date/time.
- Area. You can select any or all of your Areas ("Area" is
defined as Primary Part 1 on the Block Setup in this example). The
selection of an area will select ALL the blocks in that area.
- The "Only Print Raw Data" option generates a report with the
report detail, but with no subtotals or totals.

Detailed Description:
The selection criteria determine the date range and employees that appear in
the report. The report is based on time the entries for Employees, Contractors,
and Equipment.
The report shows the hours for each piece of equipment, grouped by equipment
type. Each column contains the data for a block.
For each block, the columns are:
- Area: Primary Part 1 on the Block
- Compartment: Primary Part 2 on the Block
- Block: Block Code
- Type: Tree Count 1, Tree Count 2 labels, one per row
- Delimbing, Felling, Loading, etc: Activities that are coded as
production activities that have any entries for tree counts greater than
zero.
Totals are provided on an area basis and for all areas together.
Key Notes:
- The report is based on tree counts for time entries for Employees and
Contractors
- Summary statistics depend on tree count entries.
- Report can be run prior to running the calculators since it contains no
dollar figures.
