Why:
You need a load-by-load listing of the defect volume for your scaled
logs. This report provides an indication of the log quality provided by
your logging contractors.
Focus:
Focus of Report is to show each load and the defect volume recorded for
each load. The report relies on matching hand-scale log data to the weight
scale load tickets.
- Report is only useful if you import your log scale data (and your log
scale data includes both a gross and a net scale volume).
- No pay calculators are required
Selection Window:
The selection window allows you to filter the report by:
- Date Range: You can either select a pay period, or you can simply enter the start and end date directly into the selection criteria window. The Period selection is merely a short-cut for entering a date range, so you can always edit the start and end dates to be any date you choose. For example, you can pick a period defined as 8/1/2004 to 8/12/2004, and then extend the end date by three days to 8/15/2004. If you leave the end time blank, the program will assume you want the entire day for the end date. In the example below, the start date/time is 8/1/2004 00:00:00 (a blank is assumed to be time 00:00:00) and the end date/time is 8/15/2004 00:00:00. Because the end date time is blank (or 00:00:00), the program assumes you want the whole day of the 15th and makes the end date/time 8/16/2004 00:00:00. In the selection query, the program returns records whose start date/time is greater than OR equal to the start/date time and strictly less than the end date/time.
- Note: for report information that is based on load tickets, the report uses the Date Out (not the Date In).
- Block. You can select any or all of your Blocks
- The "Summary Data Only" allows you to group loads by block.

Detailed Description:
The selection criteria determine date range and blocks included in the report
The report shows for each load the gross and net scale volume. The
gross and net volumes are calculated based on the gross and net scale for each
log, summed for the load as a whole. The defect percentage is difference
between the gross and net scale divided by the gross scaled volume.
The report shows:
- Block: Source block of the load
- Date: Date of the load
- Ticket#: Ticket number for the load
- Log Count: Count of logs for the load. If the log scale data
are missing, this fact is reflected by a 'Missing Scale' entry.
- Gross Scale: Gross scaled volume for the load
- Net Scale: Net scaled volume for the load
- Defect: The gross scale less the net scale
- Defect Pct: The difference between the gross and net scale
divided by the gross scaled volume.
Key Notes:
- The report depends on your importing of the log scale data

Example 1:
Example Report 1
The following is an example of the report showing a detailed load-by-load
listing of defect volume by block.

Example 2:
Example Report 2
This report shows the Log Defect report when the 'Summary Data Only' checkbox is
used. The report shows the aggregate defect volume by block. Note
also that the blocks are grouped by type of block (C_PART_2).
