Data Entry: Contractor Time Slips
Select Data Entry | Time Slips | Sub Contractors | Enter Slips. This window is
where you enter your contractor time. Click on 'Add' to enter a new time
slip.

By clicking 'Add', you call up the contractor time entry form:

The required entries for a time slip are shown in yellow:
- Date: The date the work was performed.
- Worker: This step is optional in versions prior to 4.3 because when you enter
time for a contractor (company), you may (or may not) want to enter
the specific worker performing the activity. Whether or not the
specific worker appears on contractor time tickets is a configuration item
that can be set
The Logger's
Edge. (Note that this field is
required for versions 4.3 or later.)
- Contractor: Subcontractor company who will be paid. When you
choose the worker, the contractor entry is auto-filled with his employer.
- Equipment: Equipment unit. (NONE is an option).
- Truck: Truck (NONE is an option).
- Activity: The activity the worker/contractor performed.
- Hours: The number of hours of work performed.
- Block: The geographic work area in which the work was performed.
- Revenue Contract: The revenue contract (revenue stream) against
which the contractor's cost will be charged.
- Date for Pay: Date used to determine the pay period in which the
time will be paid (defaults to the date work was performed). This date
entry can be used to move time from one pay period to another.
If you do not want to track a contractor's specific workers, the worker entry
can be dropped from the entry form in versions prior to 4.3. For example, if you have a contractor
working a block, but don't care who the contractor uses to perform the work, the
worker entry is extraneous. You can drop this entry from your form to make
data entry easier. (In version 4.3 or later, the worker field is required
because the pay rate will be associated with the worker. If you don't want
to track the individual workers employed by the contractor, you can simply set
the contractor up (under Setup | Vendors) and set that contractor up again as the worker
(under Setup | Workers) to minimize data entry.)
