Data Entry: Contractor Time Slips (Tree Count)
Select Data Entry | Time Slips | Sub Contractors | Enter Slips. This window is
where you enter your contractor time. Click on 'Add' to enter a new time
slip.

By clicking 'Add', you call up the contractor time entry form:

The key entries for tree counts are:
- Conifer Count
- Aspen count
The entries can be configured in
The Logger's
Edge to be labeled with whatever
terminology fits your
business practice. (E.g., if you want to collect the count of pine versus willow,
the labels can be easily modified to reflect that preference). You can
also configure
The Logger's
Edge to show both tree count entries or
only one entry. Of course, if you don't track tree counts, the entries can
be removed altogether.
The required entries for a time slip are shown in yellow:
- Date: The date the work was performed.
- Worker (optional): This step is optional because when you enter
time for a contractor (company), you may (or may not) want to enter
the specific worker performing the activity. Whether or not the
specific worker appears on contractor time tickets is a configuration item
that can be set
The Logger's
Edge. (Note that if you are
using version 4.3 or later, this field is required because your base pay
rate is set up for the worker.)
- Contractor: Subcontractor company who will be paid. When you
choose the worker, the contractor entry is auto-filled with the worker's employer.
- Equipment: Equipment unit. (NONE is an option).
- Truck: Truck (NONE is an option).
- Activity: The activity the worker/contractor performed.
- Hours: The number of hours of work performed.
- Block: The geographic work area in which the work was performed.
- Revenue Contract: The revenue contract (revenue stream) against
which the contractor's cost will be charged
- Date for Pay: Date used to determine the pay period in which the
time will be paid (defaults to the date work was performed). This date
entry can be used to move time from one pay period to another.
