Hourly Equipment Charge Outs (#409)
|
|
Why:
You need summary report that details your hourly charge outs.
Charge outs arise from work you perform for a customer for which you bill for on
an hourly basis.
Focus:
Focus of Report is to provide a day-by-day listing of hourly charge outs,
summarized by equipment unit.
The report provides a listing of the total hours and charge out rates for each
day, worker, block and activity. The report shows your
hourly charge out rates for each equipment unit and phase, allowing to make sure
that the appropriate charge out rates has been applied for revenue in
The Logger's
Edge. You can also track the
number of hours your machines have been utilized for hourly (billable) work.
Selection Window:
The selection window allows you to filter the report by:
- Date Range: You can either select a pay period, or you can simply enter the start and end date directly into the selection criteria window. The Period selection is merely a short-cut for entering a date range, so you can always edit the start and end dates to be any date you choose. For example, you can pick a period defined as 8/1/2004 to 8/12/2004, and then extend the end date by three days to 8/15/2004. If you leave the end time blank, the program will assume you want the entire day for the end date. In the example below, the start date/time is 8/1/2004 00:00:00 (a blank is assumed to be time 00:00:00) and the end date/time is 8/15/2004 00:00:00. Because the end date time is blank (or 00:00:00), the program assumes you want the whole day of the 15th and makes the end date/time 8/16/2004 00:00:00. In the selection query, the program returns records whose start date/time is greater than OR equal to the start/date time and strictly less than the end date/time.
- Block: You can select any or all of the blocks in which you are working.
- Activities: You can select any or all of your activities
- Equipment. You can select any or all of your equipment units (can be
company-owned or contractor).

Detailed Description:
The selection criteria determine the date range of hourly work included in
the report. The report then groups all the hours by equipment unit and
presents a daily listing of all the hourly chargeable work performed by the
equipment unit.
For each day, the columns are:
- Equipment Unit: The equipment unit's description
- Equipment Code: The unit's code (number)
- Date: Day work was performed.
- Worker: Employee or worker
- : Block in which you are working.
- Activity: The work activity that is charged out.
- Hours: Count of chargeable hours
- Rate: Average pay rate per hour.
You can use the rate to compare against your hourly rates to make sure the
correct equipment rate is actually being applied.
- Totals charges: Hours multiplied by the hourly rate.
Key Notes:
- The report only covers both company owned and contractor equipment.
- Only hourly chargeable work is covered; no load based revenue is included.
