Time - Daily Detail, by Employee
(#402)
|
|
Why:
You need a detailed listing of employee time by type of time (straight,
overtime, double overtime, etc) and by activity.
Focus:
Focus of Report is to show a listing of hours worked and pay by employee, by
activity and by type of time (straight, overtime, double overtime, etc).
The report can be run in two formats: (1) by day, in which case all time for
employees is shown for each day and then totaled by day; and (2) by employee, in
which case all time entries are grouped by employee and then totaled by
employee.
- Report only covers your employees
- The "Include Activity Summary" is only invoked when you
select sort by employees.
- The employee pay calculator must be run in order for entries to appear in
this report
- Report does not cover pay by tree counts (or tree volume),
pay based on production (e.g. per day or mile), nor employee expenses
Selection Window:
The selection window allows you to filter the report by:
- Date Range: You can either select a pay period, or you can simply enter the start and end date directly into the selection criteria window. The Period selection is merely a short-cut for entering a date range, so you can always edit the start and end dates to be any date you choose. For example, you can pick a period defined as 8/1/2004 to 8/12/2004, and then extend the end date by three days to 8/15/2004. If you leave the end time blank, the program will assume you want the entire day for the end date. In the example below, the start date/time is 8/1/2004 00:00:00 (a blank is assumed to be time 00:00:00) and the end date/time is 8/15/2004 00:00:00. Because the end date time is blank (or 00:00:00), the program assumes you want the whole day of the 15th and makes the end date/time 8/16/2004 00:00:00. In the selection query, the program returns records whose start date/time is greater than OR equal to the start/date time and strictly less than the end date/time.
- Employees. You can select any or all employees.
- Your report can be sorted by date or employees. The report sorted by
date is shown in Example Report 1 below; the report sorted by employee is
shown in Example Report 2.
- The "Summary Data Only" will suppress report detail and only
show subtotals and totals
- The "Only Print Raw Data" option generates a report with the
report detail, but with no subtotals or totals.
- The "Include Activity Summary" will add a section to the report
that tabulates hours and pay by activity. This section will only
be added in the case where the report is sorted by employees.

Detailed Description:
The selection criteria determine the date range and employees that appear in
the report. The report is based on the time entries exclusively for your employees;
contractor time
entries are excluded.
The report shows the hours by type of time, by activity for each of the
selected employees. The
columns are:
- Date. The date of the time entry (not date paid)
- Employee: Employee code on the time slip
- Type: The type of time (possible values: Straight Time, Overtime,
Dbl Overtime, Worked Holiday, Holiday OT, Night Shift, Saturday OT, Saturday
Time, Sunday OT, Sunday Time)
- Hours: Hours on the time slip
- Rate: Pay rate for that type of hour. Reflects overtime, night shift
and activity rate differentials.
- Pay: Hours multiplied by Rate -- the employees pay for that time
entry
- Activity: The activity recorded on the time slip
Key Notes:
- The report only handles employees.
- The employee calculator must be run for the report to produce meaningful
results.
