Trucking Contractor Pay Summary
|
Trucking Contractor, Pay Summary (#614)
|
|
Why:
You need summary report that details your trucking subcontractor pay.
This is especially useful in checking your truck rates by block/destination
combination.
Focus:
Focus of Report is to provide a summary of pay to trucking subcontractors.
The report provides a listing of the total loads, weight and pay rates, by
truck, for each block/destination combination. The report shows your
average truck pay rate for each truck and for each block/destination
combination, allowing to check to make sure the appropriate rate has been
applied for pay in
The Logger's
Edge.
Selection Window:
The selection window allows you to filter the report by:
- Date Range: You can either select a pay period, or you can simply enter the start and end date directly into the selection criteria window. The Period selection is merely a short-cut for entering a date range, so you can always edit the start and end dates to be any date you choose. For example, you can pick a period defined as 8/1/2004 to 8/12/2004, and then extend the end date by three days to 8/15/2004. If you leave the end time blank, the program will assume you want the entire day for the end date. In the example below, the start date/time is 8/1/2004 00:00:00 (a blank is assumed to be time 00:00:00) and the end date/time is 8/15/2004 00:00:00. Because the end date time is blank (or 00:00:00), the program assumes you want the whole day of the 15th and makes the end date/time 8/16/2004 00:00:00. In the selection query, the program returns records whose start date/time is greater than OR equal to the start/date time and strictly less than the end date/time.
- Note: for report information that is based on load tickets, the report uses the Date Out (not the Date In).
- Truck Owner. You can select any or all of your Truck Owners.
If you want to include your own trucks, you can select your own company from
the list.
- Block: You can select any or all of the blocks from which you are
hauling.
- Destination: You can select any or all of the destinations to
which you are hauling

Detailed Description:
The selection criteria determine the date range of loads that are included in
the report. The report then groups all the loads by truck, block and
destination. One row is reported for each combination.
For each load, the columns are:
- Phase: The pay activity. Generally this will be trucking, but
may be another phase (activity) if it is tagged as 'IS_PAY_LIKE_TRUCKING'.
Fuel adjustments may be an example of a phase that is tagged
'IS_PAY_LIKE_TRUCKING'.
- Owner: Truck owner.
- Truck Code: Truck code.
- Block: Source Block
- Destination: Destination of the loads
- Rate: Average pay rate expressed per unit of 'pay weight'.
You can use the rate to compare against your trucking rates to make sure the
correct truck rate is actually being applied.
- Loads: Load count.
- Truck Code: Truck code (number) for the load
- Pay Units: Pay weight expressed in the units upon which pay is
based. This value is the value prior to any overload amount
being deducted.
- OW Weight: The amount of the overload deductions (if any).
In the case where the truck is company-owned (meaning not a subcontractor
truck), there is no vendor pay. This report treats this circumstance by
reporting the values from the invoices table. Thus, for company-owned
trucks, the rates and pay weights will be for the revenue earned by the
trucks instead of the vendor payments. The revenue amounts are drawn from
the invoices details table that is the amount calculated by the invoices
calculator in
The Logger's
Edge.
Key Notes:
- The report treats 'split' loads as individual loads. The report does not use the load count field on the load slip.
- The report does not differentiate between header 'H' and detail 'D'
records.
- The report handles trucking and any activity tagged as
'IS_PAY_LIKE_TRUCKING'
- You must run the vendor calculator for the subcontractor pay records to be
displayed
- For company-owned trucks, you must run the invoices calculator for the load
records to be displayed.
