Start Me Up

We have a couple of tutorials that can jump start your learning process by working through some simple examples.  These examples will give you a basic understanding of the system and tech you how all the basic screens work.  You'll learn basic setup stuff like how to add, edit or delete an employee.

There are two methods to setup blocks in The Logger's Edge  (1) the standard method; and (2) the extended method).   The primary difference between the standard and extended setup is that the extended setup allows you to track and pay individual employees and equipment on a load slip basis.   We have two versions of the tutorial for Canadian customers and you should select the one that is most appropriate for your business.

Canadian Tutorial (Standard Block Setup) - This tutorial is design for Canadian customers that utilize the standard block setup.  This tutorial will help you to understand the fundamentals of Logger’s Edge and become familiar with the screen layouts and grids.  The goal of this tutorial is to help you to understand the fundamentals of The Logger's Edge Software and to become familiar with the screen layouts and grids.  In this tutorial, we will work through the system, starting with entering very basic setup data and finishing with calculating revenue and payments for employees and contractors, and viewing management reports.  There is also a section covering entry and tracking of miscellaneous expenditures such as parts and repair for equipment.

Canadian Tutorial (Extended Block Setup) - This tutorial is design for Canadian customers that utilize the extended block setup.  This tutorial takes from start to finish: from setting up tracts to paying employees and subcontractors to reporting,    The goal of this tutorial is to help you to understand the fundamentals of The Logger's Edge Software and to become familiar with the screen layouts and grids.  In this tutorial, we will work through the system, starting with entering very basic setup data and finishing with calculating revenue and payments for employees and contractors, and viewing management reports.  There is also a section covering entry and tracking of miscellaneous expenditures such as parts and repair for equipment.

US Tutorial (Standard Tract/Job Setup) - This tutorial is design for US customers that utilize the standard tract/job setup.  This tutorial takes from start to finish: from setting up tracts to paying employees and subcontractors to reporting,  This tutorial will help you to understand the fundamentals of The Logger's Edge Software and become familiar with the screen layouts and grids.  In it, you will work through the Software, starting with entering very basic setup data and finishing with calculating vendor payments and viewing management reports.  There is also a section explaining how to enter time slips and process hourly pay, and a section covering entry and tracking of miscellaneous expenditures such as parts and repair for equipment.

Getting Started Guide

Basic Guide to The Logger's Edge.  This guide provides an overview of the functionality of the The Logger's Edge.    The guide covers basic concepts and navigation pointers through the windows and grids in the system.  All the setup items required to pay both employees and subcontractors are covered, as well as all the steps required to pay based on time and pay based on loads.  The guide also covers employee and vendor statements and finishes with a review of the The Logger's Edge reporting capabilities.
