Block Statistics (#144)
Contents
Why:
You are looking for a snapshot of a block showing a summary of volumes (and average volumes) delivered by destination, as well as a summary of the number of days each machine spent working on the block.
Note: The volume portion of this report is particularly nice for users who use the "scale volume" field on their load tickets because the report groups volumes based on different units of measure (e.g., m3, cords, mbf).
Focus:
This report provides a nice summary of production information related to the block. Specifically, it shows the volume delivered and average load statistics, as well how long it took (number of days) to produce that volume.
Top portion of the report summarizes volumes delivered from a given block by destination, species (C Part 4), and product (C Part 5).
- Middle portion of report provides statistics regarding the number of hauling days and loads per day, as well as production days and loads per day.
- Bottom portion of report lists each piece of machinery that worked on the job, and how many days and hours that machine worked.
Selection Window:
The selection window allows you to filter the report by:
Date Range
You can either select a pay period, or you can simply enter the start and end date directly into the selection criteria window. The Period selection is merely a short-cut for entering a date range, so you can always edit the start and end dates to be any date you choose. For example, you can pick a period defined as 8/1/2004 to 8/12/2004, and then extend the end date by three days to 8/15/2004. If you leave the end time blank, the program will assume you want the entire day for the end date. In the example below, the start date/time is 8/1/2004 00:00:00 (a blank is assumed to be time 00:00:00) and the end date/time is 8/15/2004 00:00:00. Because the end date time is blank (or 00:00:00), the program assumes you want the whole day of the 15th and makes the end date/time 8/16/2004 00:00:00. In the selection query, the program returns records whose start date/time is greater than OR equal to the start/date time and strictly less than the end date/time.
- Note: For report information that is based on load tickets, the report uses the Date Out (not the Date In).
Block: You can select any or all of your blocks. The second column shows the block description (long name).
- The "Only Print Raw Data" option generates a report with the report detail, but with no subtotals or totals.
Detailed Description:
The selection criteria determine the date range and blocks that appear in the report. If you run the report for multiple blocks, you will get one panel per block.
The top portion of the report shows volume information and is based on load slip entries.
The middle and bottom portion of the report determines production days based on employee/subcontractor time slip and production slip entries.
The top portion of the report shows a row for each destination and specie/product (stratum) combination delivered from that block. It will subtotal by destination, and will provide a grand total for the given block.
The top portion of the report has the following columns:
- Load Count: Sum of the load count field on the load slip for all loads represented in the given row.
Volume (e.g., M3, Tonnes, Tons): Sum of the volume field from the load slip for all loads represented in the given row. This volume measure is expressed in the unit of measure you choose to use for production reporting when you set up the block.
- Avg Volume: Volume / Load Count
If your load slips include a Scaled Volume field, the following additional columns will also be included in the top portion of the report:
- Scaled Volume: Sum of the "Scaled Volume" field from the load slip for all loads represented in the given row.
- Avg Scaled Volume: Scaled Volume / Load Count
- Unit of Measure: Unit of Measure indicated on the load slip for all loads represented in the row. If loads are entered in two different units of measure for the same destination, the information will be split into two different rows so that the sum reflects a single unit of measure.
The middle portion of the report has the following rows:
Hauling Days: Number of distinct days reflected on the load tickets.
Loads / Day: Load Count for the overall block divided by hauling days.
Production Days: Number of distinct days reflected on the time slips and production slips for employees and/or subcontractors where the activity on the time or production slip is the one flagged for use as the Production Indicator (in the Setup | Pay Activities window).
Loads / Day: Load Count for the overall block divided by production days.
Start Date and Last Date: Reflect the first and last dates, respectively, appearing on the time slips and/or production slips used to determine the production days.
The bottom portion of the report shows the number of Equipment Working Days and the productive Equipment Hours. Specifically, it shows a row for each piece of equipment with time or production slip entries. The number of days reflects the distinct count of days where a time slip or production slip was entered for that piece of equipment.
Key Notes:
- The report uses the load count field on the load slip.
- This report will only show 'H' records
- You need not run the calculators before you run this report.
